Use channels to stay connected and support your communication workflows#

Channel-based communication workflows require real-time information sharing, flexibility, and ad hoc activities where the life cycle of communication workflows is typically measured in seconds to hours.

Fangout enables you to organize your studio’s real-time 1:1 and group communications with an unlimited and fully searchable message history. Share materials such as files, images, links; share sentiments with emojis and GIFs; and express ideas with rich markdown formatting, code syntax highlighting, and multi-language support. Facilitate face-to-face connections with integrated voice/video conferencing. Fangout channels are ideal for editors to collaborate more efficiently on creative projects.

Use the warp speed fangout file explore to transfer and manage media files for your studio projects#

By adding the Asdroid to the channel on its creation, editors will be able to view, manage, transfer, and automate media files through the fangout file explore in the way that the Windows File Explore is used for decades. In the desktop app, through the fangout file explore of the 1:1 channel to yourself (self channel), editors see all files of the current local computer and are able to operate upon them like any other channels. Files and folders can be copied and pasted between private and public channels as well as the self channl within the studio or across studios.

With the free self-hosted fangout file server, editors, studios can bring your own storages and mount to Fangout for each studio and create channels with them such that there can be no throughput and volume usages that go through Fangout storage, and thereof no need to subscribe, total free of charge, at the mean time enjoy the unlimited global warp speed.

The Fangout platform#

Fangout is based on Mattermost which is an open core, self-hostable collaboration platform offering persistent chat & ChatOps, workflow, and toolchain automation, integrated voice, screen, file and content sharing, and AI-enhanced information synthesis.

Inheriting from Mattermost, the platform is fully extensible by design, supporting a rich ecosystem of third-party applications and integrations. Fangout is easily enhanced and customized using open APIs, developer frameworks, open source customizations, and community-driven enhancements. Fangout also supports 20 languages to meet the needs of global studios.
