Cloud subscription#
Fangout offers secure, cloud-based S3 object storage for fast turnaround editors and studios that’s secure, scaleable, and low maintenance.
The subscription applies to individual studio that is created after the user signed up and logged in. Fangout provides the system scope cloud object storage by default for each channel that is created with system storage option.
The system scope cloud object storage is configured with encryption-at-rest to ensure the security of the files, and multi-location replications to ensure the integrity as well as disaster recovery of the files.
There is a file retention policy that files will not be deleted after one month of the free trial expire or the subscription gets invalid for three months. The subscription can be invalid because such situations as charge fails, card expires, subscription canceled.

How do I buy a Fangout Cloud subscription?#
Fangout Cloud subscription is offered as a monthly subscription based on the usage of file transfer throughput and storage volume for each studio, no usage, no charge.
If users create more than one studios in Fangout, each studio will need to be subscribed individually and usages can be reviewed in that studio.
Does the temporary studio members need to pay?#
No, subscribed studio pays for all the traffic and storage usage regardless who the memebers are and how much traffic and storage they cause, so it is upto the studio to make sure the temporary members would be removed after projects.
Is Fangout Cloud subject to taxes?#
Yes. Fangout reserves the right to assess applicable taxes as required by local law. Depending on location, you may be charged transaction taxes when purchasing our product.
Where does instance and data reside?#
Cloud instance and data, including files, logs and backups, resides in the AWS us-east-1 region, located in Virginia, United States.

Do you provide cross-region failover in the event of an outage in AWS us-east-1 region?#
Fangout Cloud is hosted in AWS us-east-1 region. Cross-region backup and recovery is supported while failover is development in-progress.
How is customer data in Fangout Cloud encrypted?#
Fangout uses AWS-provided functionality to enable encryption-at-rest for both databases and file stores. See Encrypting Amazon RDS resources - Amazon Relational Database Service and Protecting data using server-side encryption - Amazon Simple Storage Service for details.
Are S3-managed keys used for server-side encryption?#
Yes, all data especially the files are server-side encrypted.
Who is responsible for server maintenance and upgrades?#
For Fangout Cloud, Fangout is responsible for regular security patches, software updates/releases, performance tuning, and meta data/log backups.
Fangout performs monthly upgrades to the cloud instance with the latest patch release during your preferred maintenance window.
Fangout may conduct unscheduled maintenance to address high-severity issues affecting the security, availability, or reliability of your instance.
